Small business and the five brains of humans

Just when you thought managing one brain was difficult enough, we find out that human beings actually have five. As animals, certain parts of the human brain are very much like that of other members of the kingdom animalia. But the human brain obviously has a higher functioning computer which allows us to be self-aware, for example.

So, why does all of this matter, you ask? Well, it turns out that any one of our five brains can be more in control of our bodies at certain times than the other four. So by acknowledging this and recognizing which brain is in control based on what’s happening, we can do a better job of managing our actions and reactions. Furthermore, this information can be helpful as we manage, sell to and otherwise interact with other humans.

You won’t be surprised to learn that I’m not the best source you could find to explain the five brain configuration. The good news is that I interviewed someone who is an excellent source on this topic. Today, long-time Brain Trust member, Judith Glaser, author of “Creating We,” and I talked about the five brains of humans on my radio program, The Small Business Advocate Show. Judy is a very smart lady, and I’m sure you’ll learn a lot by listening to our conversation on this topic. Check it out.
